
GLEN BURNIE, Md. — A 42-year-old Glen Burnie man is facing multiple felony charges in a drug arrest after detectives executed a search warrant and recovered a firearm along with large quantities of suspected drugs.
Roy Albert Thomas of Glen Burnie, was arrested May 5 following an investigation by Anne Arundel County Police.
According to police, detectives with the Northern District Strategic Patrol Team were attempting to locate Thomas in connection with an ongoing drug distribution investigation when they observed him leaving a residence in the 7800 block of Bruton Drive.
Authorities detained Thomas and then executed a search warrant at the residence after confirming no other adults were inside.
During the search, investigators said they recovered:
- A 9mm Ruger pistol
- Two rounds of 9mm ammunition
- Approximately 160 grams of an unknown powder substance awaiting analysis
- About 10.89 grams of suspected crack cocaine
- Four pills of suspected Adderall
- Approximately 33.5 pills of suspected alprazolam
- A gel capsule containing suspected heroin
- A soda can with a hidden compartment containing suspected drug residue
Police said the items were seized as evidence as part of the investigation.
Thomas was taken into custody and is being held without bond following a bail determination on May 6, 2026.
A hearing is set for May 7, 2026, in Annapolis District Court.
Under Maryland law, possession with intent to distribute carries up to 20 years in prison and a $15,000 fine, while firearm-related drug trafficking offenses and illegal firearm possession can result in additional felony penalties, including significant prison time.
