On August 9, at 7:23 p.m., TFC K. D. Lashley initiated a traffic stop on a white Ford Ranger in the area of Yowaiski Mill Road and Mechanicsville Road in Mechanicsville for a traffic violation.
Upon making contact with the driver, James Robert Kolbe, 20 of Charlotte Hall and the passenger, Jonathan Mark Wood a METERS/NCIC query revealed Wood had an outstanding warrant through the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Department.
While being detained in reference to the warrant, Wood provided TFC Lashley with CDS he had concealed on his person. Following Wood’s arrest, the driver James Kolbe exited the vehicle, he was found to be in Possession of a large amount of U.S. Currency, which alerted for CDS when scanned by a K9. Also discovered in the vehicle was Marijuana and other Drug Paraphernalia.
Both Subjects were transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged accordingly. Mr. Kolbe and Mr. Wood were both held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner
