Prince George’s County, MD — Treat your water supply with care. The Prince George’s County Department of the Environment is reminding consumers that they can take simple steps to help protect the water supply.

Avoid dumping anything down storm drains. These drains flow into rivers, lakes, and oceans.

Pick up after your dog and dispose of the waste in a trash receptacle.

Don’t put items like grease, motor oil, or many cleaning products into your drain or garbage disposal.

Use rain barrels to collect water for your garden or washing your car and windows.

These few simple steps practiced by enough people can make a big difference in the quality of water we use for drinking, bathing, and cooking.
