Tree damages house, misses baby, during snow storm

Chesapeake Beach, MD – A Calvert County home sustained damage caused by a falling tree early Saturday morning, Jan. 23. In the process a portion of the tree that penetrated the home’s interior came perilously close to an area of a bedroom where a 3-month-old baby boy was asleep, the homeowner stated.

“The tree fell on my house over top my bed,” Jason Willoughby of Chesapeake Beach told The BayNet. Willoughby said the tree branch “poked through [the ceiling] aiming for him. Thank the dear Lord it didn’t come further.”

Willoughby said he was in the process of getting the tree removed but figured that could take a while since the street he lives on hasn’t been plowed yet.
