At 8:06 p.m. June 9, Trooper Shughart of he Leonardtown barrack stopped a vehicle for speeding on Roberts Welding Lane in Mechanicsville.
Upon contact with the driver, a marijuana cigarette was observed on the driver’s door.
When the driver was arrested, he gave a false name. Further investigation revealed the driver’s true identity to be De-Andre Eugene Ford, 19, of Capitol Heights.
A check through NCIC indicated Ford had an open warrant in Prince Georges County.
Ford was served the warrant, charged with possession of marijuana and other traffic offenses. He was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bond hearing.
