At 11:23 p.m. June 10, Trooper Evans of the Leonardtown barrack stopped a vehicle for failing to drive in a single lane at Route 235 and Buck Hewitt Road in Lexington Park.
The driver was identified as John Elmer Chase Jr., 45, of Lexington Park. An MVA check of the vehicle registration revealed that the tags were suspended for compulsory insurance violation and were expired. A check of the year sticker indicated the sticker had been reported stolen.
Chase was charged on a criminal citation for theft under $100, traffic violations, and released from the scene.
At 12:18 p.m. June 11, TFC P. Trossbach stopped a vehicle for failing to drive in a single lane on Indian Bridge Road at Onion Fields Lane in California.
Upon contact with the driver, Justin Ryan Knott, 21, of Leonardtown, an odor of burnt marijuana was detected. During a probable cause search, a smoking device containing marijuana was located in the center console.
Knott was charged on a criminal citation with possession of CDS paraphernalia and released from the scene.
