At 12:24 P.M. on May 22, 2011, Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department Co. 2, Mechanicsville Volunteer Rescue Squad Co. 29, and Hughesville Volunteer Fire Department Co. 2 EMS were dispatched for the rescue assignment at the intersection of Three Notch Road and Thompson Corner Road. Co. 2 responded with Squad 2 and Chief 2, Co. 29 with Ambulance 297, and Charles Co. 2 with Ambulance 27. Upon arrival, their were two vehicles off the road with one patient trapped do to the other vehicle pinning her door closed. Squad 2 worked to separate the vehicles and free the patient from her vehicle. Crews operated on scene for 20 minutes and had one refusal of care and Ambulance 297 transported two patients.
