Upper Marlboro, MD — Two men were found guilty of sexually abusing children in two separate cases in Prince George’s County.
Jurors convicted Patrick Prosper-David, 49, of sex abuse of a minor, attempted third and fourth degree sex offense and related charges.
Prosper-David, a sovereign fired his public defender and represented himself, which meant that he was allowed to cross-examine the victim during the trial.ย
The incident happened back in 2018. The girl, a relative of Prosper-David’s, told her mother she was sitting on the couch with him at her grandparents’ home and he sexually abused her. Her mother informed police.
Prosper-David faces up to 35 years in prison at his sentencing on October 30.
In a separate case,ย Dietrich Ames, 39,ย was convicted for sexually abusing the 14-year-old daughter of a family friend.
The victim was visiting his home overnight in April 2018 when the abuse took place. Ames was found guilty of sex abuse of a minor, fourth degree sex offense and second degree assault. His sentencing is set for October 25. He faces up to 25 years in prison.
