Investigators from the Office of the State Fire Marshal have charged two juveniles with manufacturing and using an improvised explosive device.
The device, commonly known as a โsoda bottle bombโ, was detonated under a car at 525 Clarks Run Road on January 6, 2010. Although the car was not damaged, the incident was reported to LaPlata Police who assisted State Fire Marshals with the investigation.
The juveniles, a seventeen year old and a sixteen year old both from Waldorf, were charged at their homes on
Monday morning and released to the custody of parents. They are charged with โManufacture and Possession of
an Improvised Explosive Deviceโ.
The case will be turned over to juvenile justice authorities.
