motor vehicle accident in southern maryland

WHITE PLAINS, Md. — Four people were taken to the hospital Thursday afternoon following a serious rollover crash at the intersection of St. Charles Parkway and St. Anastasia Drive in White Plains.

Emergency crews were dispatched at 4:40 p.m. on July 31, 2025, after 911 callers reported an SUV had flipped over following a two-vehicle collision in a residential area. Witnesses said the SUV was turning into the neighborhood when it was struck by another vehicle, causing it to roll.

Charles County emergency personnel arrived within minutes to find multiple patients in need of medical attention. Although no one was ejected from the overturned vehicle, several individuals sustained injuries ranging from head trauma to chest pain.

Four patients were transported to UM Charles Regional Medical Center for treatment. One child was assessed on scene but did not require transport.

The response included a coordinated effort from multiple EMS units, with final transports completed by 5:30 p.m. The scene was cleared shortly thereafter.

The incident remains under investigation.
