Crash near PAX NAS in St. Mary's County MD

On May 12, 2017, at 10:42 pm, deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Three Notch Road and Thomas Rowe Lane for the report of a head-on, motor vehicle collision. Officers arrived on scene and discovered both involved operators deceased. The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene and continued the investigation.

The preliminary investigation revealed a 1999 Honda Accord operated by Latoya Shawnta Jordan, age 33, of Lexington Park, was traveling north on Three Notch Road. For unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed the centerline into the southbound lanes striking a 1999 Chevrolet Malibu operated by Calvin Dilmera Berry, age 33, of Leonardtown. An adult passenger and three juvenile passengers in the Honda Accord were transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

UPDATE 11:30 a.m.

Lexington Park, MD – Two people are dead as a result of a two-vehicle collision near the entrance to Naval Air Station Patuxent River, St. Mary’s County authorities have confirmed. Four motorists–an adult female and three children were seriously injured in the collision which occurred Friday evening, May 12 on Three Notch Road. Due to weather conditions none of the injured will be flown to trauma centers.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area until further notice.


Lexington Park, MD – At 11:01 p.m. the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office advised there was a serious motor vehicle crash on Route 235 (Three Notch Road) in the area of Thames Avenue (Between NAS Gate 2 and 3). Use alternate routes, the roadway will be closed,

Reports from the scene indicate two vehicles are involved with entrapment.
