College Park, MD – Detectives arrested a suspect in connection with a kidnapping and assault in College Park. Suspect has been identifed as Westagne Pierre, 29, of 9100 block of Spring Hill Lane in Greenbelt. Pierre was working as an Uber driverat the time of the incident and the victim was his customer.
 
A preliminary investigation has revealed that  Pierre picked up the victim in Washington, DC, the night of Oct. 18. Pierre was instructed to drive the victim to her home in Virginia. However, instead of dropping her off, he began to drive to a hotel in College Park, MD.

After the two individuals arrived at the hotel, Pierre removed the victim from the car and carried her into a hotel room. Upon further investigation, it was discovered the suspect also used the victim’s credit card fraudulently later in the day. 

Detectives arrested the suspect on Thursday, Oct. 27. Pierre has been charged with kidnapping, assault and credit card fraud. Additional charges are pending after consultation with the State’s Attorney’s Office. Currrently, the suspect, Pierre is in the custody of the Maryland State Department of Corrections.
