LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – On January 2, 2025, at approximately 9:45 p.m., fire and rescue personnel responded to a single-motor vehicle crash on Poplar Ridge Road near Christian Way.
Crews arrived to find a Mitsubishi Montero Sport SUV on its side and the driver was trapped and injured. Firefighters extracted the patient from the vehicle and turned them over to EMS for care.
EMS evaluated the patient on the scene and transported them to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital for further medical treatment.
A preliminary investigation found the driver of the Montero Sport swerved off the roadway and struck a tree. Upon impact, the vehicle overturned. A citation was issued for driving without a license.
St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
