LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – On January 2, 2025, at approximately 9:45 p.m., fire and rescue personnel responded to a single-motor vehicle crash on Poplar Ridge Road near Christian Way.
Crews arrived to find a Mitsubishi Montero Sport SUV on its side and the driver was trapped and injured. Firefighters extracted the patient from the vehicle and turned them over to EMS for care. Â
EMS evaluated the patient on the scene and transported them to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital for further medical treatment.
A preliminary investigation found the driver of the Montero Sport swerved off the roadway and struck a tree. Upon impact, the vehicle overturned. A citation was issued for driving without a license. Â
St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
