Two businesses in Charlotte Hall were robbedย four days apart by masked caucasian men, and St. Maryโ€™s detectives are entertaining the possibility the crimes are connected.

One of the suspects described to police is similar in both robbery accounts, as is the style of dress and method of escape, confirms Lt. Rick Burris, commander of the Bureau of Criminal Investigations.

โ€œWe are looking into both,โ€ Burris said. โ€œAnd we realize the suspects are very similar.โ€

On June 29, at 12:35 a.m., two masked men smashed in a door at Dominoโ€™s and robbed an employee with a pistol. The suspects were described as white males with light colored masks. One man was approximately 5โ€™9โ€, 180 lbs, wearing a white t-shirt and black vest. The other suspect was between 6โ€™ and 6โ€™5โ€.

On July 3, at 1:40 a.m., a lone masked white man robbed 7-Eleven at gunpoint. The man was described as approximately 5โ€™8โ€, 150 lbs., wearing a black mask, black t-shirt and black cargo style pants.

During both robberies the suspects escaped the scene unnoticed, and witnesses could not report if they fled in a vehicle or on foot.

โ€œIn both cases we have little idea of how they left the area,โ€ Burris told The Bay Net.

The Bureau of Criminal Investigations is a joint unit of detectives from the St. Maryโ€™s Sheriffโ€™s Office and the Maryland State Police Leonardtown barrack.
