LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — Maryland State Police have identified the victim in last week’s fatal two-vehicle crash on Point Lookout Road as Dorothy Elizabeth Reed, 79, of Lexington Park.
Shortly before 9 a.m. on Feb. 13, 2026, troopers from the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack and emergency personnel responded to Maryland Route 5 (Point Lookout Road) near Willows Road for a reported collision.
According to the preliminary investigation, a Ford F-150 was traveling northbound on Route 5 when a Toyota Avalon attempted to make a left turn from Willows Road onto southbound Route 5 and failed to yield the right of way. The F-150 struck the driver’s side door of the Avalon.
Reed, who was driving the Toyota Avalon, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the F-150 was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released that driver’s name, and their condition has not been disclosed.
The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration assisted with traffic control and road closures during the investigation.
The crash remains under active investigation.
