Owings, MD – On Monday, July 20 at approximately 6 a.m., a call was dispatched for a motor vehicle accident on Route 2 South at the Route 260 intersection.
One truck was on its side and southbound Route 2 was closed in this area at the intersection. The other vehicle was off roadway on the northbound side of Route 2.
The driver of the truck was trapped until a pathway was made for him to get out on his own power.
The ambulance transported the driver of the other vehicle to get an additional evaluation at Calvert Memorial Hospital. This driver’s injuries appeared to be minor.
One lane going north on Route 2 remained open while responders were at the scene. All southbound lanes were closed until 7:15 a.m.
