Update:
On January 9, 2014 at approximately 4:07pm, Calvert County 911 broadcast a call for an armed robbery at the Verizon Wireless Store, located at 10394 Southern Maryland Blvd. in Dunkirk.
Maryland State Troopers from the Prince Frederick Barrack and Calvert County Sheriff’s Deputies responded. Trooper First Class Saucerman arrived at the scene and learned the following:
Two suspects entered the store and discussed purchasing a phone with an employee. One of the suspects then displayed a handgun and demanded merchandise. During the robbery, the suspects confronted a customer and stole cash from his wallet. The suspect placed numerous electronics in a bag and fled the store.
Suspect one was described as a black male approximately 30 years of age, wearing a dark Redskin skull cap, dark clothing and facial hair. Suspect two was described as a black male, approximately 50 years old, wearing blue jeans and a red checker shirt and a blue jean jacket. He was described as 5’11”- 6’2”, 225 lbs. with a beard.
Further investigation revealed that the suspects fled the area in a green Saturn, unknown registration.
Detectives from the Maryland State Police, Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene and assumed the investigation while numerous Deputies and Troopers canvassed the surrounding area. A Crime Scene Technician from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and processed the store for evidence.
