Calvert County Sheriffโs Office)
On December 13, 2013 at approximately 8:04am members of the Calvert County Sheriffโs Office Patrol Bureau and Crash Reconstruction Team responded to the area of Chesapeake Beach Road (MD Route 260) and St Andrews Drive Chesapeake Beach, MD for a report of a serious motor vehicle crash.ย
Preliminary investigation revealed a 2013 Jeep Wrangler, was being operated by April Lea Wooden, a 38 year old female and a resident of Chesapeake Beach, was traveling westbound on Chesapeake Beach Road MD Route 260 in the area of St. Andrews Drive.ย ย ย
As the 2013 Jeep Wrangler approached the intersection of MD Route 260 and St. Andrews Drive a black 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse, operated by Steven Ray Sargent, a 24 year old male and a resident of Chesapeake Beach, entered the westbound lanes of MD Route 260 in an attempt to make a left turn and continue eastbound.ย The Eclipse was struck in a side impact collision and both vehicles came to a final rest on the eastbound grass median of MD Route 260 approximately 15 feet from the point of impact.ย ย ย ย
It was determined on scene; Sargent was not wearing his seatbelt and was found unresponsive lying in the front passenger seat of the vehicle.ย North Beach Volunteer Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene where they determined Sargent to have succumbed to his injuries sustained during the collision.ย ย
Mrs. Wooden was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital where she received treatment for minor injuries.ย

On Friday, December 13, 2013 at approximately 8:15 am, there were two vehicles involved in a serious auto accident at Route 260 and St. Andrew Drive inย
Chesapeake Beach.
There was entrapment of one person in car. One person was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital and the other pronounced decease at the scene.
Police has now taped of the area for reconstruction investigation of the accident. Traffic is flowing but down to one lane. Use caution in this area.
