Owings, MD – At approximately 1 p.m. Sunday, July 23 Calvert Advance Life Support (CALS) was alerted for a motor vehicle crash reported serious on Route 260 at Chews Branch Road. Several CALS units arrived on the scene, first reporting a two-vehicle head-on collision with two trapped. Members of the Dunkirk  and North Beach volunteer fire departments worked quickly to free the trapped occupants and transfer them to waiting for EMS units. One patient was flown by Maryland State Police Trooper 2 while the other patient was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital.
