UPDATE: ย On May 7, at approximately 11:20 a.m., a call was received at the Calvert County Courthouse.ย The caller advised that a bomb was going to explode in the courthouse.ย In response to this bomb threat, both the District and Circuit Court buildings were evacuated.ย Personnel from the Calvert County Sheriffโs Office, MSP Barrack โUโ and Explosive Detection K9 Teams from Prince Georgeโs County Police Department responded.ย
The two courthouses, the Court House Annex and adjacent buildings/grounds were checked for explosive devices with negative results.ย These buildings were subsequently declared safe and regular business resumed shortly after noon.ย ย

Business is back to normal in Prince Frederick after a bomb threat was issued for the Calvert County Courthouse shortly before lunch time on May 7.
K9 bomb dogs were called in from Prince George’s County to search the area. No bomb or threat of bomb was found.
This incident remains under investigation.
After a sweep of the Calvert County Circuit Court, no bomb or threat of a bomb was found. Citizens and employees are being let back inside as of 12:40 p.m. Traffic remains blocked off in the area while officers continue to investigate.
Calvert County Sheriffs are actively investigating a suspected bomb threat at the Calvert County Courthouse in Prince Frederick off of Main Street.
Evacuations are in progress at both courthouses. Roads in and around the area have been blocked off to traffic.
The threat came in shortly before 11:30 a.m. It is unknown at this time, what kind of threat was made.
