Crash at Route 4/Route 408 Monday, January 8 2018

Lothian, MD – A head-on collision Monday morning, Jan. 8 in Southern Anne Arundel County resulted in injuries to several motorists, local fire and rescue authorities reported. The crash occurred at the Route 4/Route 408 intersection in the Waysons Corner area at approximately 8 a.m.

According to a report from the Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Department (Calvert County Company 5), motorists were trapped in the wreckage when emergency personnel arrived at the scene. “The crew went to work stabilizing the cars and removing several doors and posts,” the report posted by Company 5 spokesman Jonathan Riffe stated. In addition to Anne Arundel and Calvert, emergency crews from Prince George’s County responded to the scene. At least two motorists were flown from the scene by U.S. Park Police Eagle 1 and Maryland State Police Trooper 2.
