Mechanicsville, MD – A fire Sunday evening, Oct. 25 destroyed a vacant house on Shoreview Drive in Mechanicsville, state authorities reported. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, the blaze was discovered and reported by a neighbor around 8:20 p.m. No injuries were reported.
Thirty-five firefighters from Mechanicsville, Hughesville, Benedict, Hollywood, Bel Alton and Seventh District were dispatched to the scene and had the flames under control in 20 minutes. The fire was investigated by Dfm. John Nelson and Dfm. Melissa Decker. Their probe determined the preliminary cause of the fire is incendiary. The blaze originated in the front interior of the house.
Damage to the structure is estimated at $75,000.

Mechanicsville MD, Oct 25, 8:30p.m. — There are reports of a House Fire in the Golden Beach area of Mechanicsville on Circle Road. Firefighters are on-scene with heavy fire conditions.
