TAPPANNOCK, Va. — Nicholas “Nic” Jackson, a 17-year-old from Upper Marlboro, Md., delivered a standout performance at the SEBRA Pro Series event on Saturday, May 31, earning a win with an 85.5-point ride atop a bull provided by BLM Bull and Rodeo Company.
The competition, held at Wind Vineyards at Laurel Grove in Tappahannock, Va., drew athletes from across the region as part of the Southern Extreme Bull Riding Association (SEBRA) circuit — one of North America’s premier bull riding sanctioning bodies.
Founded in 1994 by Professional Bull Riders (PBR) legend Jerome Davis, SEBRA has grown into the largest bull riding association in North America, sanctioning more than 450 events annually and fostering young talent from grassroots through professional ranks.
Nic Jackson’s score of 85.5 points was the highest of the night, placing him at the top of the leaderboard and earning him bragging rights in a sport that demands both courage and precision.

A Rising Star With Deep Roots
Jackson has been making headlines since his early teens. In 2020, at age 13, he made history by becoming the first champion from Maryland and the Northeast to win the Junior World Bull Riding Championship in Texas. He followed that with another major milestone in 2024, winning the YETI Junior World Finals Championship in the 16–18 division in Las Vegas.
Raised in a family of horse trainers and fifth-generation cowboys, Jackson has blended his heritage with hard-earned skill to rise through the national bull riding ranks. His story has been featured in outlets such as WUSA9, Because of Them We Can, and the official Junior World Finals platform.
