
WALDORF, Md. — Firefighters responded shortly after midnight Friday to a structure fire in the area of 11885 Patchwork Place in Waldorf.
The fire was reported at approximately 12:17 a.m. on March 13, 2026. According to the Office of the State Fire Marshal, the blaze involved a vacant single-family residence.
Deputies with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office first discovered the fire and notified emergency responders. Firefighters from the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department responded as the primary department, with 44 firefighters operating on the one-alarm incident.
Investigators determined the fire originated in the attic of the home. Crews brought the fire under control in about 25 minutes.
No injuries were reported, and the structure sustained an estimated $50,000 in damage.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
