WALDORF, Md. — Verizon Wireless is currently experiencing a widespread mobile service outage affecting customers in Waldorf and surrounding areas, leaving many without voice, text, or data capabilities throughout the day Wednesday.
According to Verizon, the network disruption began at approximately 9:45 a.m. EDT. Technicians were immediately dispatched to investigate the issue, which impacted mobile connectivity but did not affect emergency services. Local officials confirmed that 9-1-1 systems remained fully functional during the outage.
Verizon estimates that full service will be restored by 10:23 p.m. EDT, though that timeline is subject to change based on repair progress.
Frustrated customers took to social media to report the disruption, many noting that their phones showed “SOS” or “No Service” with no official update for several hours.
Verizon has advised customers to check their network status for updates and to utilize Wi-Fi calling where available.
As of Wednesday afternoon, technicians were still working to resolve the issue. The company has not yet released specific details about the cause of the outage.
