At approximately 3 am Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputies responded to the reported Burglary at a Lexington Park home.
Upon arrival Deputy Brian Connelly located the victim inside his home and the suspect was located and detained in the front yard of the residence. The investigation revealed the victim was sleeping when he woke to a subject standing over him.
He attempted to flee and the suspect grabbed him by the neck and repeated struck the victim’s head on a mirror. Roommates came to the victim’s aid and 911 was notified.
The suspect believed the victim had spoken to his wife inappropriately. He arrived at the residence, drove onto the front lawn, forced his way into the home and assaulted the victim.
The suspect, Patrick John Cosgrove (Age 35 of Hollywood, Md.) was arrested and charged with Felony Burglary, Assault Second Degree and Property Destruction under $500.00.
