On March 1, Detectives from the St. Mary’s County Bureau of Criminal Investigations Sex Offender Unit apprehended Alfonso Gasnarez, 28 of California, Md.
Gasnarez is required to register as a sex offender with the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and failed to do so. Gasnarez was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center, charged with Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and incarcerated pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
Gasnarez was convicted of Second-Degree Rape of a 14-year-old victim in 2005.
