MECHANICSVILLE, Md. — The American Association of State Troopers (AAST) Best-Looking Cruiser Contest is back, and it’s time to vote for your favorite vehicle. Highway patrols and police agencies across the United States submit a unique photo of a cruiser taken in their state, and then the top 13 choices are offered a spot on the AAST’s special calendar. The vehicle with the most votes earns the right to appear on the calendar’s cover, while the remaining 12 each fill a different month.
St. Mary’s County is in the spotlight this year, as the Maryland State Police opted to take their submission photo at Suttler Post Farm. As featured above, the picture offers a glimpse of a police cruiser with a horse standing on each side. Maryland’s scenic submission photo displays Rocco and Ben, two Clydesdale horses.

Other states are going in a different direction from Maryland with their submissions. While Maryland State Police chose to highlight a farm and horses, Florida submitted a photo overlooking a colorful bridge. Nevada highlighted an aircraft in its picture, and Indiana set up its vehicle on the football field where the Hoosiers play.
Maryland secured fourth place in the contest last year, marking the state’s first-ever spot on the calendar after receiving more than 18,000 votes. Florida took the top spot, while Michigan came in second.
The Maryland State Police Facebook page recently offered a few words of praise for Suttler Post Farm, thanking the farm for its contribution to this year’s contest photo.
“A special thank you to the team at Suttler Post Farm Clydesdale’s in St. Mary’s County for allowing us to capture this photo on their farm.”
This year’s submission captures the beauty of Southern Maryland, highlighting its stunning green landscapes and deep farming heritage. Maryland did exceptionally well last year, so a first-place win is entirely possible for the Old Line State!
