Polls are open for voting today from 7 am until 8 pm. Make sure you exercise your right – and duty – to vote. If you are working today you are entitled to leave in order to vote. A day after September 11, we are particularly reminded of attacks on this country and what it stands for. The Bay Net urges you to use your vote – democracy doesn’t work without it, so do your part.
MARYLAND VOTER LEAVE LAWS
Employees who do not have two hours before or after work to vote may take up to two hours of leave to vote. Employers may specify the time during the day that leave can be taken.
Employees are entitled to paid leave but are required to provide employers with proof of voting.
