Arrest Held Without Bond Southern Maryland

WALDORF, Md. — A Waldorf man is facing five criminal charges, including two counts of first-degree assault, after authorities say he violated a protective order and threatened a resident during an incident on Nov. 25, according to charging documents.

Phillip Jerome Ford, 47, is charged with violating a protective order, two counts of first-degree assault, and two counts of second-degree assault, court records show. An arrest warrant was issued and served on Nov. 25.

According to charging documents, 911 received a call shortly after midnight, reporting that Ford was banging on the door and threatening to shoot the occupants. The resident had an active protective order against Ford, and he was prohibited from contacting, entering the home or threatening abuse. The order had been issued on Nov. 18 and served on Nov. 19.

The victim also had been receiving repeated text messages from Ford despite the protective order. Ford was not located when officers arrived.

Ford was initially held without bond following his arrest on Nov. 25. At a bail review hearing the next day, Judge Patrick R. Duley ordered that he continue to be held without bond.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 16 in Charles County District Court.
