Anthony Darnell Tillotson

WALDORF, Md. — A Waldorf man was ordered held without bond after investigators said he failed to report several online accounts to the Maryland Sex Offender Registry, according to charging documents.

Anthony Darnell Tillotson, 41, of Waldorf, was charged with failing to provide required sex offender registry information.

According to charging documents, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office received a cyber-tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) on March 6, 2026, regarding potential child abuse and solicitation. The tip involved messages sent on MeetMe from an account using the display name “Anthony Morningstar.”

Investigators said the cyber-tip included additional accounts using the same or similar display name, including an Instagram account and a Kik account. The report states NCMEC also provided account profile information and a photograph that an investigator recognized as Tillotson.

Charging documents state Tillotson is a Tier III registered sex offender and is required to remain on the registry for life. During a Jan. 6, 2026, re-registration at the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Waldorf Station, Tillotson confirmed his registry information and signed a form acknowledging that he was required to report new email addresses, screen names, instant-messaging identities and electronic chat room identities within three days.

The report states Tillotson reported having a Facebook account under one username and two email addresses during his last registration, but did not report other identifiers.

Investigators obtained search and seizure warrants for records from Meta Platforms, Kik and MeetMe, according to charging documents. Records showed accounts using the name “Anthony Morningstar,” as well as a Facebook Messenger account under the name “Anthony Salvatore.”

Charging documents state records also showed photographs, videos and audio messages involving Tillotson, along with a screenshot showing location weather for Waldorf.

As of the report, investigators said Tillotson had not reported having a MeetMe account, Instagram account or Facebook Messenger account under the name “Anthony Salvatore” to the Maryland Sex Offender Registry as required.

An arrest warrant was issued May 6, 2026, by Judge Brett Crocheron and served May 7. Court records show Tillotson was ordered held without bond that day and remained held without bond after a bail review hearing before Judge Sally C. Chester on May 8.

A hearing is set for June 23, 2026, at Charles District Court.

Under Maryland law, the listed charge carries up to three years of incarceration and up to $5,000 in fines if Tillotson is convicted.
