On January 15 at about 8:05 p.m., Calvert County Det. Nicholas DeFelice and Det. Jason Ewig of the Calvert Investigative Team observed a wanted subject, Delonta Devonce Dandridge, 23, in the Kent Road area of Sunderland.ย 

The two investigators responded to his location and attempted to take him into custody on an open warrant for a robbery that had taken place at the Sunderland Wine and Spirits on December 4, 2009.ย ย 

Dandridge fled into a trailer at the end of Kent Road, pursued by the officers.ย  DFC John McCarroll, Dep. Stephen Esposito and Cpl. Todd Smith, along with K-9 partner Keloh, arrived on the scene to assist.ย  Dandridge charged out of the door of the trailer and struggled violently with the officers attempting to take him into custody.ย  A large unruly crowd had gathered as Dandridge was subdued and taken into custody.ย 

Dandridge was served with the outstanding warrant for robbery, first-degree assault, and theft.ย  He was additionally charged with assault on law enforcement, resisting arrest, inflicting harm on an animal used by law enforcement and disorderly conduct.ย ย ย
