Watch for Buses as Students Return to Schools

WALDORF, Md. – Next week, some students in Charles County will head back to school as part of phase two on Monday, March 22, 2021.

Charles County Sheriff’s Office advises motorists to be mindful of school buses on the roads and students at bus stops.

Do you know the laws regarding stopped school buses?

• On two-lane and multi-lane roads and highways, vehicles travelling in both directions MUST ALWAYS STOP.

• One a divided road or highway with an unpaved space or raised median, vehicles behind the bus MUST ALWAYS STOP.

• Vehicles travelling in the opposite direction must proceed with caution.
