St. Mary’s County Public Schools will have a delayed opening of 2 hours for Fri, Mar 4, 2016 with a Code 5 for employees.
Calvert County Public Schools Opening 2 Hours Late
School opening will be delayed 2 hours due to inclement weather. No AM Pre-Kindergarten.
The workday for 10 and 11-month employees will begin 30 minutes before the scheduled student starting time.
12-month employees, including emergency personnel, report on time.
No Food Service Workers are to report prior to 8:00 a.m.
When there is inclement weather, school buses may run late. Check the Bus Status page for updates from bus drivers reporting a delay of 10 minutes or more.
St. Mary’s County has seen three or more inches of snowfall since Thursday evening. Most of the snowfall has occurred on grassy surfaces. Public Works road crews have been salting the roads since 10 p.m. and report roadways are generally clear and wet. A winter storm warning remains in effect until 10 a.m. Drivers are urged to exercise caution when venturing out this morning as there can be a few slick spots.
The following is a status of various county government offices, operations and select activities for Friday, March 4:
All St. Mary’s County Administrative Offices will open on time.
Non-Public School transportation will operate on a two hour delay.
All Recreation and Parks programs operating in the Public Schools will do so on a two hour delay.
Recreation and Parks facilities will be open and operate on a normal schedule.
STS Transit will operate on time.
The six (6) Convenience Centers and St, Andrews Landfill will open on time.
All three Senior Activity Centers (Garvey, Loffler and Northern) will open on time.
All St. Mary’s County Library locations (Charlotte Hall, Leonardtown & Lexington
Park) will open on time.
St. Mary’s County Circuit Courthouse will open on time.
All College of Southern Maryland campuses will open on time.
NAS Pax River will operate normally.
