The Charles County Department of Emergency Services would like to notify citizens that wind restrictions have been placed into effect on the Harry W. Nice Memorial Bridge on U.S. 301 in Charles County.
Wind restrictions are implemented when sustained wind speeds are between 40 and 49 mph. When wind restrictions are implemented, house trailers, empty box trailers, and any vehicle that law-enforcement personnel determines may not safely cross the bridge, will be prohibited from traveling the bridge. Motorists who are denied passage will be assisted with safely turning around.
