St. Mary’s and Calvert winter weather advisory in effect from 5PM Tuesday until 6AM Wednesday.

The National Weather Service in Baltimore MD/Washington has issued a winter weather advisory for snow.

Snow accumulations: 2 to 5 inches

This will occur late this afternoon through tonight. The heaviest snow will be late this evening and overnight temperatures going to the teens with winds north 5 to 10 MPH increasing to 10 to 15 MPH with gusts around 20 MPH after midnight.

Impacts: roads will be snow covered and slippery.

The combination of snow and blowing snow will reduce visibility below one-half mile at times making travel dangerous. The evening rush hours may be impacted tonight but the worst conditions will be overnight. Although snow will end by the morning rush hour time on Wednesday, untreated roads will remain snow covered and slippery.
