Woman Arrested After Traffic Collision Leads To Drug Seizure In Annapolis

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — A routine traffic collision response turned into a drug bust on Tuesday night in Anne Arundel County.

Officers responded to the intersection of Tower Place and Forest Drive at approximately 8:20 p.m. on Dec. 17 after receiving a report of a traffic collision involving a red Toyota Prius.

Upon arrival, officers discovered drug paraphernalia in the purse of one of the vehicle’s occupants, sparking a more extensive investigation. A subsequent search of the Prius revealed approximately 108.88 grams of an unknown white, powdery substance, 22.61 grams of suspected crack cocaine packaged for distribution, and additional tools commonly associated with narcotics use.

The vehicle’s driver, identified as 46-year-old Dawn Marie Krause, who police said has no fixed address, was taken into custody at the scene. Krause faces multiple drug-related charges stemming from the discovery.

This incident remains under investigation, and the seized substances will undergo laboratory testing to confirm their composition.

No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.

Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Anne Arundel County Police Department.
