On Dec. 10, at 3:09 a.m., Deputy J. Graves responded to a residence in Mechanicsville for the report of a domestic assault.
Investigation revealed the victim and suspect were involved in a verbal dispute which escalated into a physical altercation. Suspect Jennifer M. Bell, 30 of Mechanicsville, struck the male victim in the face, chest and abdominal area by hand causing minor cuts and abrasions.
Bell was placed under arrest without incident, charged with second-degree assault and incarcerated in the detention center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
