Vice/Narcotics detectives, working with Correctional staff, intercepted contraband as a work release inmate attempted to smuggle banned items into the secure facility.
Suspect Joy Marie Jackson (Age 36 of Lexington Park, Md.) was sentenced to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center for her role in a robbery.
She was granted work release from the court and information was received that she was smuggling banned items which were secreted inside her body.
Cigarettes and 16 sleeping aid pills were recovered from her person. She was charged with two counts of possession of contraband in a secured correctional facility.
