Woman Charged After Allegedly Ignoring Deputies At Solomons Stabbing Investigation

SOLOMONS, Md. — A Lexington Park woman is facing misdemeanor charges after Calvert County Sheriff’s Office deputies alleged she repeatedly ignored lawful commands and became disorderly while officers investigated a stabbing on the Solomons Island boardwalk, according to court documents.

Raliyah Denejae Alexus Tyler, 28, of Lexington Park, was charged in the District Court for Calvert County with failing to obey a reasonable and lawful order and disorderly conduct. The charges stem from the July 5, 2026, incident.

According to a statement of probable cause filed by the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were assisting with the investigation of a stabbing that had occurred earlier in the evening. At approximately 10:24 p.m., deputies were assisting in apprehending a bystander in connection with an alleged failure to obey a lawful order when Tyler approached the area.

Investigators alleged Tyler was instructed by deputies not to enter her vehicle because it was considered a vehicle of interest in the ongoing investigation. According to court documents, Tyler ignored the deputies’ commands and continued attempting to enter the vehicle despite being given lawful orders to stay away.

The charging documents state Tyler became disorderly while deputies attempted to de-escalate the situation. Authorities reported de-escalation efforts were unsuccessful, and Tyler was ultimately placed in handcuffs.

After being taken into custody, Tyler was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center without further incident, according to court records.

District Court records show Tyler was released on her own recognizance following her July 6, 2026, initial appearance. She is scheduled to appear for a trial-officer scheduling hearing Aug. 5, 2026, at the Calvert District Court.
