
HOLLYWOOD, Md. — A 66-year-old woman was flown to a trauma center Saturday morning after a two-vehicle crash in Hollywood.
Emergency crews were dispatched around 11:15 a.m. to the area of Tom Hodges Drive and Mervell Dean Road for a reported crash involving two vehicles.
Crews arrived to find one vehicle in the roadway and a second vehicle off the roadway.
Firefighters performed a quick door pop to gain access to one of the patients.
EMS evaluated two people at the scene. A medevac was requested for the 66-year-old woman, who was suffering from hip and shoulder injuries.
She was transported by ambulance to the hangar at St. Mary’s County Regional Airport, where Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 2 arrived at 12:10 p.m.
The patient was transferred to Trooper 2 and flown to the UM Capital Region Medical Center for further treatment.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
