Lexington Park, MD – St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office deputies were investigating a burglary to a residence located on Castaway Circle in Lexington Park May 31, when a crowd began to form outside of the home.

During the course of the investigation, Corporal Vizzosi identified a male juvenile as a suspect in the burglary.

He approached the juvenile to place him under arrest.

At that time, a female identified as Lakeisha Lashawn Kelson, age 28, of Lexington Park, pushed Corporal Vizzosi and began pulling the juvenile away.

Corporal Moritz and Trooper Ganeshananda grabbed Kelson and attempted to place her under arrest. Kelson resisted arrested by continuing to pull away from officers and push her body off the hood of the police car.

Kelson was placed under arrest after a short struggle.

As a result, the crowd grew larger. K9 units had to respond to keep the crowd back in order to continue the investigation.

Kelson was transported to the St. Maryโ€™s County Detention Center and charged with obstructing/hindering, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
