HANOVER, MD โ€“ Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) Secretary Pete Rahn and the Office of Small and Minority Business Policy (OSMBP) have announced the addition of several summer evening sessions this June through September as part of the monthly Certification Application Assistance Workshop program.
MDOT, the stateโ€™s official certifying agency, conducts free monthly workshops for firms interested in applying for certification as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Airport Concession Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) and/or Small Business Enterprise (SBE).

The workshops allow interested parties the ability to better understand the certification process as MDOT staff provide an in-depth review of the application, explain eligibility standards, and offer marketing and business development tips. Following each workshop, participants can meet one-on-one with an MDOT Certification Officer to discuss individual concerns.

MDOT already hosts workshops the first Tuesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. at MDOT headquarters, 7201 Corporate Center Drive, Hanover, MD 21076. Evening workshops are held every three months, also on the first Tuesday, at 5:30 p.m. at MDOT headquarters. From June through September, the evening workshops will be held monthly on the first Tuesday, at 5:30 p.m. The regular schedule will resume in October.
