The Charles County Sheriffโ€™s Office, the Center for Abused Persons (CAP), North American Strong Man Society (NASS), Samson-Power.Com, Chaney Enterprises and County First Bank will host the 6th Annual Strong Man and Woman Competition on Aug. 5 at White Plains Regional Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The competition proceeds will benefit the local Crime Victimsโ€™ Fund, an emergency funding source for victims of crime who do not qualify for the State Criminal Injuries Compensation Fund. To support the event, some of the worldโ€™s strongest people will compete in events including Conanโ€™s Wheel, Stone Load, Log Cleans and Presses, Waddle Walk, Farmerโ€™s Walk and Tire Flip.

In addition to viewing the competition, spectators are also offered food and door prizes. The event raises awareness about domestic violence, family violence and the local crime victimsโ€™ fund.
