Thousands stopped by to take part in the Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department carnival held July 27 through July 30 and Aug. 3 to 7.

St. Mary’s Sheriff Dave Zylak agreed to volunteer for the dunking booth one night, doing his part to support the department’s annual fundraising event.

Area residents enjoyed funnel cakes, pizza, games, bingo, rides, games of chance, beer and more. There were also nightly drawings and prizes, and a treasure chest of cash was given away on the final night of the carnival.
