Lexington Park, MD – Whether you do not celebrate the holiday, need to run to the store for some groceries, or want to stop and grab some food on your way home from visiting family, it is difficult to know which establishments will be open Christmas Day.ย  Here are some of those select few places that will be.

If you are looking for general needs, most of the pharmacy/variety-type stores (CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens) will be open to some extent. The Rite Aid in Leonardtown is the only one that will have their pharmacy open, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Also open are many dollar stores, including Family Dollar and Dollar General. Also open are many Safeway stores.

If you need some coffee or a quick snack, WaWa locations will be functioning as normal, as will 7-Elevens. Many Starbucks will also be open.

If more substantial food is what you are looking for, Boston Market, Buffalo Wild Wings, Golden Corral, Panda Express, IHOP, Waffle House, and Dennyโ€™s will all be open. According to a 2016 press release, Christmas has been the dinerโ€™s โ€œbusiest dayโ€ in the past. Some McDonald’s restaurants will also be open.

Lastly, if you need to get away from family or just need something to do with them, the movie theaters in the area are open. The best-rated movies in theaters right now are, โ€œSpider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,โ€ โ€œBumblebeeโ€ and โ€œRalph Breaks the Internet.โ€ Those films have 97 percent, 94 percent, and 89 percent respectively on Rotten Tomatoes.

Before heading out, be sure to check that your specific store is open, as hours can differ a lot between individual stores.
