BRUSH FIRE IN MARYLAND

COLTONS POINT, Md. — Firefighters are actively working to contain a brush fire that spread into wooded areas Tuesday morning, April 28, 2026, in Coltons Point.

The incident was reported around 10:28 a.m. in the 20200 block of Charles Hall Court, where callers advised that a bonfire left burning from the previous day had reignited and spread into nearby woods.

Initial reports indicated the fire had grown to approximately half an acre and was extending through a wooded area near homes in the neighborhood.

Fire crews arrived to find an active brush fire estimated at roughly 40 feet by 40 feet, with flames spreading toward a nearby shed. Command requested additional personnel to assist with containment efforts.

Due to the fire’s spread and terrain, a forestry unit has been requested to respond and assist crews in controlling the blaze and preventing further extension into surrounding woods.

Multiple units remain on scene as firefighters work to contain the fire and protect nearby structures. No injuries have been reported at this time.

The incident remains active, and additional details will be provided as they become available.
