NANJEMOY, Md. — A 16-year-old was flown to a trauma center on Friday evening after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bike in Nanjemoy.
The crash occurred around 5:35 p.m. May 29, 2026, at Durham Church Road and Ironsides Road, involving a bicyclist. The driver remained on scene and reported the crash.
EMS evaluated the teen, who suffered serious leg injuries.
A medevac was requested, and Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 2 responded.
Trooper 2 airlifted the teen to Children’s National Medical Center for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation.
