PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – On Saturday, Dec. 7, the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), joined by Troopers from the Maryland State Police(MSP), Prince George’s County Police Department(PGPD), Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR), and the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal, brought holiday cheer to our community during the 18th Annual Calvert Shop with a Cop event.
This heartwarming program, sponsored by the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 109,and the Optimist Club of Calvert, pairs underprivileged children with local officers for a day of festive fun and gift shopping for themselves and their loved ones.

The day began with patrol vehicles transforming into holiday sleighs, chauffeuring the children from their homes to Prince Frederick. Outback Steakhouse hosted a delicious breakfast, where Santa Claus and The Grinch made surprise appearances, spreading Christmas magic to all. After breakfast, the children were escorted in a procession of lights and sirens to Walmart for a shopping spree, their smiles lighting up the holiday season.
Santa’s helpers at the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department worked their wrapping magic to ensure each gift was perfectly packaged, ready for Christmas morning.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Outback Steakhouse for providing a scrumptious breakfast and lunch, the Optimist Club of Calvert County, Calvert FOP, Walmart, Pros Fore Clothes Foundation, Children’s Aid, Inc., CCSO civilian staff, and the many community partners and sponsors whose generosity made this magical day possible.
This event was the perfect kickoff to the holiday season, bringing joy and hope to the children and families in our community.
