CHARLOTTE HALL, Md. — Jaydon Aaron Wood, 19, of Charlotte Hall, received a stet disposition in St. Mary’s County District Court on Nov. 26, 2025, after entering an other plea in a case involving a charge of second-degree assault as well as malicious destruction of property over $1,000. A stet disposition means the court has temporarily suspended prosecution and is not a finding of guilt.
According to police documents, the incident occurred on Aug. 26, 2025, when Wood allegedly went to his ex-girlfriend’s residence and confronted the victim about her dating activities. During the altercation, Wood allegedly pushed the victim multiple times. Court records state that the victim was later found with cuts and scratches on her right knee and leg, as well as cuts and scrapes on both hands.
Police reports indicate that Wood then allegedly took the victim’s cell phone and threw it onto the victim’s vehicle, causing the device to break. Wood also allegedly punched and stomped on the vehicle, resulting in several dents in the hood, a damaged right taillight and a broken driver’s side mirror. According to charging documents, Wood allegedly told the victim he would kill her before fleeing the scene.
Court records note that emergency medical personnel responded and treated the victim at the scene before she was transported to a hospital by a family member. Police estimated the total damage to the vehicle at more than $3,000.
Under Maryland law, the maximum penalty for second-degree assault is 10 years of incarceration and a $2,500 fine. The related charge of malicious destruction of property over $1,000 carries a maximum penalty of three years of incarceration and a $2,500 fine.
